Description and use

Terry White Chemists Oral Rehydration treats & prevents dehydration due to a number of conditions that can result in the loss of fluids and salts from the body. This can be particularly dangerous in babies and small children as they can become dehydrated very quickly. it is important to replace the lost fluid with a balanced mix of glucose and salts in water. Orange flavoured. Free from: Aspirin, sucrose, alcohol, gluten, yeast, wheat starch, paracetamol, lactose, and dairy products.

Dosage

Terry White Chemists Oral Rehydration Salts solution should be consumed as required whilst diarrhoea is present. The solution should be drunk in small amounts at first if vomiting is also present. Reconstituted solution may be stored in a fridge for up to 24 hours. Otherwise, unused solution should be discarded within one hour. FOR PREVENTION OF DEHYDRATION: Under 6 months: 1/2 -1 sachet every 4-6hours. 6-24 months: 1 sachet every 3-4 hours. 2-5 years: 1-2 sachets every 3-4 hours. 5-8 years: 2 sachets every 3-4 hours. 8-10 years: 1 sachet every 1-2 hours. 10-12 years: 1-2 sachets every hour (up to 6-12 sachets in 24 hours). Adults and children over 12 years: 1 or 2 sachets after every loose motion (up to 8-12 sachets in 24 hours). Plastic measure provided.

If condition worsens or diarrhoea persists or the child has decreased urinary output, seek medical advice. Under 6 months - Medical advice should be sought if diarrhoea persists for more than 6 hours: Under 3 years - Medical advice should be sought if diarrhoea persists for more than 12 hours. 3-6 years: Medical advice should be sought if diarrhoea persists for more than 24 hours. Over 6 years: Medical advice should be sought if diarrhoea persists for more than 48 hours. Do not add sugar, soft drinks, sweeteners or other fluids. Do not use if pouch is torn. This preparation contains 276mg of sodium per sachet which should be taken into account by those on a low sodium diet.
